Welcome to American Heritage University School of Law

Educating Tomorrow’s Attorneys

Welcome! It is a great honor to serve you as the Dean of American Heritage University School of Law (registered with the State Bar of California). I have been an attorney since 1984 (37 years). I hold a Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, Los Angeles. In my career, I have been very fortunate to have held positions as a Deputy District Attorney for Kern County (Bakersfield) and Deputy Attorney General III for the State of California Department of Justice (Los Angeles).

I am admitted to practice law in all courts in California, the federal courts and before the United States Supreme Court. I also have extensive experience as a prosecutor, criminal defense attorney and family law practitioner. Overall, I have completed more than 130 criminal jury trials in the California Courts about evenly divided between prosecution and defense. I have handled thousands of cases, including misdemeanor and felony cases as well as a variety of civil, family law and immigration cases. I have argued cases before the California Court of Appeal; one case resulted in a published opinion, to wit: Fahmy v. Medical Board of California (1995) 38 Cal.App.4th 810.

In addition to my law career, I have been an educator for many years – teaching from preschool to the university level, including undergraduate and graduate and law school.

As Dean of American Heritage University School of Law, my goal is to assist every student in learning the substantive law and preparing each student for the California First-Year Law Students Examination and the General Bar Exam. To reach this goal, I promise to provide you with qualified professors who are learned in the law and who will challenge you in a rigorous but fair manner to achieve our learning objectives. I am always available to you for counseling and any other matter relating to your law school career.

Visit our Juris Doctor (JD) program page for more information. Again, WELCOME to the wonderful world of the law! It is challenging yet exciting and will give you a lifetime of intellectual pleasure.
